Public Hearing Proposed Water and Sewer Rate Increase

Pursuant to Section 15.2-2119 Code of Virginia, a public hearing will be held by the Shenandoah Town Council on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at 7:00 p.m., in the Town Hall, 426 First Street, Shenandoah, Virginia, for the purpose of increasing water and sewer rates, effective August 1, 2024.

For customers inside Town limits, water and sewer rates will each increase from $28.15 to $29.65 for a minimum usage bill.  This is an increase of $1.50, or 5.32%.

For customers outside Town limits, water and sewer rates will each increase from $41.00 to $42.50 for a minimum usage bill.  This is an increase of $1.50, or 3.66%.

For all customers, the minimum usage will decrease from 3,000 gallons to 2,000 gallons.  This is a decrease of 1,000 gallons or 33.3%.

A copy of the proposed ordinance is available for examination in the Shenandoah Town Hall, 426 First Street, Shenandoah, Virginia, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Citizens are encouraged to attend this public hearing to express their views.

Note:  Any special needs individuals or hearing-impaired individuals who need an interpreter must notify the town office at least seven (7) days prior to the public hearing.
