Paving Services for ADA Trail and Parking

Sealed Bids are now being accepted for the following:

Grade, pave, and stripe a 36 inch wide trail and access connector and parking to meet the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act for Accessibility Trail in Big Gem Park, 736 Fourth Street, Shenandoah, Virginia.  Plans and specifications are available at Town Hall or by email upon request.   Prior to bidding walkover site inspections are also available and encouraged.  Project completion to include all billing is expected by April 2023.  

Please indicate on the envelope “Big Gem Trail Project Paving Sealed Bid”.  Bids must contain Name, Address, Telephone Number, copy of contractor’s license, insurance, and Amount of Bid.

Sealed bids must be returned to the Shenandoah Town Hall, 426 First Street, Shenandoah, Virginia 22849.  Deadline for sealed bids will be Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at 2:00 p.m., at which time they will be opened.  The Town Council will then review all bids received and reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids.

Amendments and measurements 2/24/23: 

1.  16x20 parking spot near the entrance to trail
2. 16x25 parking spot near the restroom
3. 4’x52’ path from restroom to picnic shelter
4. Trail base will be 6 inches of stone
5. Trail base will be 6 feet wide
6. Trail paved area will be increased to four feet (4’) wide to accommodate the normal size equipment and not require hand pour.
7. Asphalt will be 2.5 inches compacted to 2 inches
